A Field Engineer with TRC, Kirby works primarily on the Commercial and Industrial Energy Efficiency program supporting the local Publicly Owned Utility NIPSCO. Meeting with NIPSCO customers regularly to improve their bottom line through embracing energy efficiency upgrades within their facilities has helped give him a very broad background in energy efficient endeavors.
Honing his understanding of energy management principles, he became aware of how important the idea of sustainable development and practices were.
Kirby obtained the LEED Green Associate accreditation while working in the Carolinas for Belimo. After he began working for Lockheed Martin, he helped launch the USGBC (U.S. Green Building Council) North Central Branch where he is currently Board Chair. They are instrumental in hosting a variety of events, speaking engagements, and LEED Certified site tours in the surrounding area.
