Schneider Electric's Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) is a self-contained, scalable solution designed to optimize energy usage and maximize renewable energy benefits. It is integral to microgrid systems, offering energy and cost savings through flexible configurations ranging from 60KW to 2MW in 2-hour and 4-hour options. The system is UL certified, ensuring safety, environmental standards, and grid compliance.

BESS features easy installation and maintenance, with comprehensive services including startup assistance, preventive maintenance, extended warranties, and remote support. It is ideal for commercial, industrial, and microgrid applications, providing energy cost reductions through demand charge reduction and time-of-use tariff management. The BESS helps shift energy consumption to off-peak hours, saving 10-20% on energy costs.

The system also enhances resilience by firming renewable energy sources, ensuring consistent power, and providing backup during grid outages. It supports electric vehicle (EV) charging stations, reduces site demand charges, and offers income opportunities through ancillary markets and demand response programs.

In microgrid applications, the BESS stabilizes the system and maximizes renewable energy use, especially in islanding scenarios. Schneider Electric’s BESS is fully integrated with inverters, batteries, cooling systems, electrical distribution, transformers, safety features, and controls. The technical specifications uses a lithium-ion iron phosphate battery with a 15-20 year life and over 6000 cycles, operating within a temperature range of -20°C to 50°C, and complies with various industry standards, including UL9540, UL1741, CSA 22.2, IEC 62109-1, and IEEE 1547.
